About

hey, it's me, heather.
Like you, I believe nutrition is an underrated superpower that impacts all aspects of life.
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist bringing symptom relief to sufferers of Fibromyalgia and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) through diet.
My whole life my mom has struggled with chronic pain, inadequate sleep, and discomfort from fibromyalgia. She reached a point where she had found a medication regime that masked the pain enough to help her get decent sleep at night, but she felt the chronic pain was gradually moving to other parts of her body and she often suffered from migraine headaches.
With my B.S. in Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science, and M.S. degree in Dietetics, and years of work and study in the field of nutrition, surely, I could find some way to help my mom find some relief.
I researched nutrition therapies for fibromyalgia and found that many nutrition interventions have been tried. However, there are still no official recommendations for nutrition-based treatments. The amount of interventions tried and recommended by various websites and research articles was overwhelming.
Knowing what my mom's typical diet looked like, I was able to identify potential adjustments that might make a difference in her symptoms. This included vitamin D supplementation, elimination of aspartame, a reduction in added sugar and a trial of the Low FODMAP Diet.
Together we tried it.
And it worked!
Through the process, we identified which foods were related to increased severity of symptoms.
For the first time in 35 years my mom has reduced her chronic pain, not just masked it with heavy pain meds. She now sleeps more at night than she has in 35 years. She doesn’t have to go to the doctor as much. She can now go swimming for exercise, something she would never do before because it hurt too much. Her quality of life is better. She calls it her “miracle”.
Turns out the FODMAP diet is helpful for IBS too.
I have had the opportunity to help sufferers of chronic symptoms related to fibromyalgia and IBS find the relief they are searching for. My education and experience has prepared me. Additionally, I have completed training from Monash University’s Low FODMAP Diet for IBS course. I want to help you feel better, to eat with confidence, and to optimize your nutrition so you can prosper.
I’m grateful for what I have learned in my nutrition experience.
I want to help you! Let’s do it together.
on a more personal note
It seems there is never a dull moment in my life. There is always something going on from severe Wyoming weather, wildlife sightings in the yard, adventures in the mountains, to simply the day-to-day activities of being a mother, which I love and would not trade for anything.
I enjoy a good hike with my husband and daughter, taking it easy by the river fishing and building mud villages with my daughter, sitting in the sunshine, and learning a new song on the piano. I also spend a fair bit of time serving as a follower of Jesus Christ. I came across this scripture in my personal study and it is my hope for you, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” 3 John 1:2
